Look Who's Walking Now?

So... last week I believe I may have voiced my concern re: boy-o's wanton ambivalence toward the practice of getting about on two, rather than four limbs. And I really was concerned.

Turns out I needn't have been.

Yesterday, my son stood up and took five steps.

No fanfare. No fuss. Like he's been doing it all along. And perhaps -- just like that character Andy in Little Britain - you know, the one meant to be a quadriplegic in a wheelchair, who can leap out and swim the English channel when his carer's back is turned... perhaps my son has been practicing when my back is turned, secretly laughing behind his grubby little hand all the while I carry him about when he should.have.been.walking.

No matter.

Boy-o is officially on the move.

And about time, too!

  4. Hee hee, love your comparison to Little Britain :) Well done Elliott and a hoorah for Mum too... now you can rest your arms and back although... I am sure you're legs will be getting a workout chasing him around! Mumma Bouw on the other hand has an 11 month old little miss who still refuses to crawl... great on her feet but will. not. crawl. Yup, I picked it from when Allegra was only a few months old, she will skip crawling altogether! Aren't our cherubs funny little things :) xo

  5. Oh well done young fella! So cute. We do worry ourselves over nothing the majority of the time. Love the Little Britain reference, I can SO see kiddies doing that to us Mama's behind our backs ;o)
My little lazy bones, is still only walking when he really wants to, but his number of continuous steps have improved since I commented on your post last week too. Slow and steady wins the race as they say! xo
